Hi everyone,
Well here we are again. I've finished writing about feedback...well for now, unless I get some really bad feedback and want to vent.
Today, I want to sing the praises of the eBay community boards for a while.
From the start, you can find the "boards" as they are known, by clicking on "community" and then forums. There are a whole range of different forum boards you can visit, ranging from help to general chit chat.
During peek times, which are normally afternoons and then early to mid evenings, you will find that there are literally thousands of eBay members to frequent these chat boards.
A lot of these members are highly experienced eBayers who like nothing more than to give a "newbie" a hand with the world of online selling.
Whilst the eBay help section is absolutely packed FULL of information and does actually contain the answers to practically any question you might have, it is not always easy to find the particular answer you might be looking for.
For example, I wanted to find a particular rule in writing for a student of mine. I was on the phone to another Powerseller at the time and she was also searching for this piece of policy. It took 20 mins to find what information I was looking....and I knew it was there and so did she.
What chance does a new eBay seller or buyer have.....Really?
this is where I have found the forums so very handy. If I want an answer today,NOW, right this second, I simply post a topic (or thread as they are called) on the most relevant section (or board). I know I will get an answer and will get it quickly.
The main thing to remember when posting topics, is while it is INVALUABLE for getting answers ASAP, you are also asking a question in a public forum and not everyone in the eBay world will see things as you do.
You will get a huge variety of answers and some of them you may well disagree with. Also remember when posting to be polite (even if another poster isn't being nice) and that sometimes it is the answer you least wanted or expected that you will end up valuing the most :0)
Ok, that's it for today! I will be back soon with some examples of posting (replying to threads you or someone else has started), plus what all of those crazy acronyms actually mean, LOL (laughing out loud).
See you soon,
Amanda
